Why Haiti Must Turn Jewish
For Instant and Long Term US Aid
From this .. To this!
Discovered by Christopher Columbus more than 300 years ago, Haiti has remained generations away from the most primitive stages of the Industrial Revolution.
And now a devastating earthquake has slammed the impoverished land back into the late Stone Age – while killing more than 150,000 of its people.
Clearly, as all the world knows from the horrific images on millions of television screens, Haiti and its tortured people teeter on life support.
But then – as the poorest nation in the Western hemisphere – Haiti has always been one mega-catastrophe away from total collapse.
And now the Big One's come.
Which brings me to a modest proposal designed to generate the sort of unquestioned aid the long-suffering nation needs and deserves.
Haiti should declare itself a Jewish state.
My logic is impossible to refute.
First, by becoming a Jewish state, Haiti will instantly earn the unqualified support from American Israeli Affairs Committee (AIPAC) -- arguably the most power lobby in Washington.
Second, scores of elected Friends of Israel -- from Senator Joe Lieberman to Broward Congressperson Debby Wasserman Schultz and Boca's Adam Hanser will rally around Haiti with the same fervor they have for illegal settlements on Palestinian land.
And third, from national media stars on Fox News to local radio personalities like WFTL radio's Joyce Kaufman, a Jewish Haiti will become the darling of the airwaves.
But most important of all, consider Israel's staggering share of the non-military aid the United States has showered upon various nations from 1946 to 2007.
All one need do is the math – and the need for Haiti to turn Jewish is as obvious as the devastation from a 7.0 earthquake.
And so I rest my case.
