A Broward General World Record?

                                 A Heartfelt  Letter To:

Rhonda Calhoun
Chairperson
North Broward Hospital District
Board of Commissioners

Dear. Ms. Calhoun

You might want to ask your public relations people to see if one of your staff physicians is worthy of the Guinness Book of Records.

How so?

Last year, Dr. Ashok Sharma sailed through 12,556 patient visits as the Director of Non-Invasive Cardiology at Broward General Medical Center, the flagship of the tax supported North Broward Hospital District  (Based on official District records.).

Clearly, this could be a land speed record for seeing heart patients.

Which could Broward General on the map.

Mainly because people are fascinated by record-breaking medical events.

Like did you a Texas dancer named know Sheyla hold the world's record for the largest surgically enhanced breasts with a an amazing bra size of 38KKK?

So Dr. Sharma's certainly worth looking at – having averaged one patient visit every 7.4 minutes last year.*
                                   Medical Record Holders?

                          Dr. Ashok Sharma        Sheyla Hershey
Naturally, your PR people will need to answer several obvious questions like:
   -
Was Dr. Sharma wearing roller skates?
   -
Or did his patients come rolling by on a giant conveyor belt at the Broward General's new $50 million heart Center of Excellence?
People are fascinated by inside medical stuff like this.
Did you know it took more than a pound of silicone to create Ms. Hershey's breast?
   So
I'm sure the Guinness people would be interested in the logistical aspects of Dr. Sharma's warp speed cardiology.

By the way....

Another District cardiologists ran a close second to Dr. Sharma last year.

He's Dr. John Ronzanski and he sped through 11,622 heart patient visits last year – which averages out to one heart patient visit every 8 minutes* .

So you might want your PR people to do a news release on the two cardiologists together. (It could make for great photos – or B roll footage of a long line of people waiting for the two docs to check their hearts.)

Sincerely,
John deGroot
A
Proud District Taxpayer.

*NOTE: My researchers came up with these numbers based on the following assumptions that, being full time District employees, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Rozanski each:
      Averaged
7 hours,5 days a week (with an hour off for lunch)

Enjoyed 11 legal holidays

Took four weeks paid vacation

Based on this, we determined each cardiologists spent a annual total of 1,548 hours seeing patients.

However...

I'm sure the Guinness people will want to do their own math.  JKdeG.
