Broward Health - A Local Lourdes?

A medical miracle worthy of Lourdes is underway at the public North Broward Hospital District (dba Broward Health), one of the largest healthcare systems in the nation.

It's taking uninsured patients less time to recover than it did five years ago.
Plus they're getting well enough to go home a day sooner than their insured counterparts.
Surely, South Florida's True Believers will be gathering at Broward General in numbers far greater than the recent appearance of Jesus in a toasted cheese sandwich.
   Just c
onsider the miraculous trend in the District data below:

Average Length of Hospital Stay

2005          2010            % change
All Patients    5.3 days   5.0 days     (6%)
Uninsured     5.6 days   3.8 days     (32%)

Clearly, someone should alert the Vatican.

Or Health Care Reform leaders in Washington.

    Also noteworthy:

Medicare and Medicaid patients with private insurance plans appear to recover much sooner than their counterparts with traditional government-funded insurance plans.

How and why?

Obviously, these are questions better left to wiser students of health care and matters of faith than your humble blogster.

However...

It's hard to argue with the amazing trends based on the official District data below:
