A Minor Media Omission?
    The free enterprise system is rarely free – aside from the occasional coupon in the Sunday newspapers.
    No matter.
    Staunch Republicans like Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley steadfastly recoil from any attempt by Big Government to compete with Big Business as creeping Socialism and the work of the Devil.
    This is certainly the case when it comes to President Obama's attempts to reform the nation's sick healthcare system where nearly 50 million Americans lack health care insurance and millions more are one major illness away from financial ruin.
    In seeking to create the illusion of “balanced” journalism, the national media has made Senator Grassely its Quote Whore de Jour as the reliable voice of opposition to Obama's healthcare initiative.
    However..
    In quoting Grassley latest official “concern” and/or “alarm” over the danger of socialized medicine infecting the nation's health care system the media consistently fails to tell its readers and/or viewers Big Medicine's history of bankrolling the Iowa Senator's past election campaigns.
    Anyhow...
    Were we living in the best of all possible worlds, each time the media quotes Grassley's latest position on Obama's health care form efforts, they should inform the American people how:
    In past twenty years, the nation's Health Care industry has been one of the largest sources of campaign dollars for the Republican Senator, pouring some $2 million dollars into Grassley's last four bids for re-election*.
    Which, if nothing else, might help average American have a better idea of how and why Chuck Grassely remains a champion of Big Health and a sworn enemy of Socialized Medicine in all its insidious forms.
